Gritty McDuff's Brewing Company proudly announces the return of our legendary Extra Special Bitter for the fall season, Halloween Ale the beer so good, it's scary! From its humble beginnings fifteen years ago as a small-batch seasonal in our Portland Brew Pub, Halloween Ale has grown to be one of the year¹s most anticipated beer releases throughout the state. This robust brew has a deep amber color, a bold, malty palate and a well-rounded hop finish. The 2005 Halloween Ale is available in ominous six-packs and 22oz bottles, and on draft at frightening establishments all over the terrifying state of Maine.Be afraid, be very afraid...of running out!

Vacationland Summer Ale

Gritty McDuff ’s is pleased to announce the return of Vacationland Summer Ale. Vacationland is an Extra Special Golden Ale that’s light in color but full-bodied, with a snappy hop finish. A bit of extra time in the conditioning tank rounds out and mellows the ale. We use generous portions of pale malt with just a touch of wheat malt to give VSA unique flavor that’s richer than most summer brews. Cascade leaf hops add a delicate and forward hop character as well. It’s the perfect brew for all things summer.

Original Pub Style

A Classic Maine Pale Ale - Now in 6-Packs!

Gritty McDuff's Brewing Company is pleased to announce the release of Gritty's Original Pub Style, a classic pale ale from Maine's original brew pub.

Original Pub Style harkens back to the very first brews Gritty's produced at our Portland Brew Pub back in 1988. "We wanted to make a beer that captures what made people fall in love with craft brewing in the first place; a fresh, classic pale ale with plenty of hop character." says Brewmaster Ed Stebbins. "This is the kind of beer that really started the whole Maine brewing revolution."

Original Pub Style is a copper-colored, medium-bodied brew with a subtle malt palate and a snappy, slightly floral hop finish. the taste captures the freshness of a hand-crafted brew pub ale that goes right from the conditioning tank to your glass! Original Pub Style is a year-round release available in six and twelve packs all over the great state of Maine, and on draft at Gritty's Portland and Freeport brew pubs.
